On the evening of March 4th, Apple announced the release of the new MacBook Air series laptops powered by the M3 chip on its official website.   The M3 chip is built using cutting-edge 3-nanometer technology, delivering robust performance and record-breaking battery life for the MacBook Air. The new MacBook Air is equipped with a powerful 8-core CPU and up to a 10-core GPU, supporting up to 24GB of unified memory. With the M3 chip, users will experience exceptional performance for everyday tasks, photo and video editing, and software development. Additionally, thanks to the new generation graphics processor of the M3 chip, the new MacBook Air supports hardware-accelerated grid shading and ray tracing technology, enabling more precise lighting, reflection, and shadow effects for a more realistic gaming experience. Furthermore, it has incorporated the latest media processing engine that supports AV1 decoding, providing more efficient and higher-quality video streaming experiences.   Publicly available information indicates that the new MacBook Air with the M3 chip delivers up to a 60% speed improvement compared to the M1 chip-based model and up to 13 times faster speed compared to models with the fastest Intel chip. Notably, the M3 chip's faster speed and higher efficiency neural network engine continue to advance AI technology applications for the MacBook Air.   The newly introduced 13-inch and 15-inch MacBook Air models feature an ultra-light and ultra-thin design, boasting up to 18 hours of battery life, stunning Liquid Retina displays, and several new features. The Wi-Fi speed is up to twice as fast as the previous generation. The new MacBook Air comes in four colors—Midnight, Starlight, Space Gray, and Silver—and will be available for order soon, with official sales beginning on Friday, March 8th.
